A beautiful interview. Joe Campo said a lot in his simplicity. He speaks of the importance of culture. What is "Culture"? We hear so much of it today. To me culture is that which makes us grow, or even die. It's the environment in which we live. As a plant is cultured or tended to in a garden so are we. But, we have a greater choice as to what makes us grow, the greater our faith the better our ability to choose or reject the things of this world so we may grow and mature for the next. As an artist myself I believe every piece of art, film, painting, sculpture -- whatever is like an arrow pointing up or down. I believe all art teaches something; it may be good or bad. It may be subtle such as Monet's "Waterlilies" or as thunderously poignant as the "Pieta". These plant seeds in us. I also believe every good piece of art gives a small glimmer of Heaven. I guess I could even say, a peek at God. That's why a good culture is so important
