My friend:

Opus Dei is my “great discovery” and I wanted to share with you something of its theology. Opus Dei emphasizes the “universal call to holiness”, through the sanctification of our ordinary activities, such as work and family life. Of course, to achieve that, some training is needed. The founder of Opus Dei holds that the “paramount means” of training is one-on-one coaching through spiritual direction.

I have some experience with this, because of my involvement with this institution of the Catholic Church. Would you like to learn more?

In Christ,

Hey Frank I vote HEad to Head. Did you get another team? If not, since you are the Commish you could make a dummy team with scrubs from the waiver wire and then we would have ten teams.

See ya at kickoff!

I am a Louisianian forced out by the economic policies "Socialist/Dictatorial/Neo- Fascism" of Louisiana politics that has strangled a state that should be the most prosperous in the nation, agriculture, tourism, fishing industry, petro/chemical, shipping. Left in 1999 for more prosperous living near dat dreaded city of Atlanta, just a bit up the road in Buford, that you do not like. C'est si bon

Frank, I remember sending you a comment but now I can´t find it. So, I´m happy to having you as a friend. About tamales, well, not exactly, their elaboration is not an easy thing. But they are cheap, at least they are cheaper than a McDonald hamburger, that´s for sure. So, did you like Guatemalan tamales? I like them a lot.

Tell me more about you and let´s be friends. (We already talked about Opus Dei).

You will be remembered in a very special way by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate throughout this blessed season, particularly in the Christmas Novena of Holy Masses offered by their community from Midnight Mass and the Mass each day during the Octave ending with the Vigil Mass of the Mother of God. Always remembering you n our prayers and sacrifices.

May Our Lady Bless you with the Peace, Love & Joy of Her Infant Son, Christ Our Lord!

Can't say that I remember the Frito Bandito...a few years before my time! The costume was for a party I attended. Some people thought I was Juan Valdez, while others called my Jose Cuervo. Personally I'd prefer a good cup of coffee over a shot of tequila any day...

it is great to hear from you. Your wife sounds like she is the true wonder woman!

Hello Frank,
Thanks for joining Ave Maria! I like your "trinity" of cooking but it is missing the
"queen" of cooking- garlic!
Don't be offended, I like your photos but not Wonder Woman- I don't think she should be besides Our Blessed Mother and it is immodest.
May the remainder of Advent be a time of grace and blessing for you.

Frank, Thanks for the message. I haven't read authentic YAT in a while! I'm from Metairie, but you may know that Holy Cross used to have a motto: "It's worth the ride!"

And I love your picture of Our Lady of Prompt Succor. That's N.O. at its best!

My Own Prison - Full Circle

A week before the release of their new album "Full Circle" , here's an oldie from Creed, the American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida that became popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s. This old album is one of the top 200 selling albums of all time in the United States.

This song was written at a point of Scott's life when he was blaming everyone around him for everything in his life- (when he ran away from home). His friends family and even God. He finally realized t… Continue

Feast Of St. George

If Mary Magdalene was the victim of misunderstanding, George is the object of a vast amount of imagination. There is every reason to believe that he was a real martyr who suffered at Lydda in Palestine, probably before the time of Constantine. The Church adheres to his memory, but not to the legends surrounding his life.
That he was willing to pay the supreme price to follow Christ is what the Church believes. And it is enough.
The story of George's slaying the dragon, rescuing the king's daught… Continue

Fighting The Spiritual Forces Of Evil

Lent is an appropriate spiritual moment to train ourselves more earnestly to seek God, opening our hearts to Christ. Confront evil, wicked passions and vices with the spiritual weapons of prayer, penance and fasting. Fasting and other Lenten practices are motivated by man’s need to purify himself from within and detoxify himself from sin and evil, allowing the faithful to free themselves “from the slavery of his own self “ and more available “to serve our brothers & sisters.” We have 40 days… Continue
