St. Padre Pio, pray for us.

"I want to recommend to you in a special way the Rosary, a source of profound Christian life. Try to pray it every day, alone or with your family, repeating with great faith those basic prayers of the Christian: the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory be to the Father. Meditate on those scenes of the life of Jesus and Mary of which the joyful, sorrowful and glorious mysteries remind us. Thus you will learn in the joyful mysteries to think of Jesus who became poor and lowly, a child, for our sake, to serve us. You will feel encouraged to serve your neighbour in his needs. In the sorrowful mysteries you will realize that accepting the sufferings of this life with docility and love, like Christ in his Passion, leads to happiness and joy which is expressed in the glorious mysteries of Christ and Mary in the hope of eternal life".

My Favorite Padre Pio Quotes

"Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer."

"Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should only speak to Him with your heart."

"Do you not see the Madonna always beside the tabernacle?"

"The longer the trial to which God subjects you, the greater the goodness in comforting you during the time of the trial and in the exaltation after the combat. "

"Keep close to the Catholic Church at all times, for the Church alone can give you true peace, since she alone possesses Jesus, the true Prince of Peace, in the Blessed Sacrament."

"Fear not because God is with you."

"Prayer is the oxygen of the soul."

"Who can assure us that we will be alive tomorrow? Let us listen to the voice of our conscience, to the voice of the royal prophet: "Today, if you hear God's voice, harden not your heart." Let us not put off from one moment to another (what we should do) because the (next moment) is not yet ours. "

"Oh, how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it. Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praiseworthy manner!"

"The life of a Christian is nothing but a perpetual struggle against self; there is no flowering of the soul to the beauty of its perfection except at the price of pain."

Friends,

Let me share with you all my favorite quote of Padre Pio:

Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry!

“Pray, hope, and don’t worry! Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer. Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God’s heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips but with your heart. In fact, on certain occasions, you should speak to Him only with your heart.”

Thanx for starting this group Joe. Below is a link for those who may not be so familiar with Padre Pio.

http://www.padrepiodevotions.org/

Padre Pio used to say, "Unite yourself to my prayers." Here you will find the Prayers of Padre Pio, including the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus which he prayed every day. You can also pray the Divine Office with Morning Prayer (Lauds), Evening Prayer (Vespers), and Night Prayer (Compline). Be sure to read "Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry" our Padre Pio newsletter filled with inspirational stories about St. Pio, and those whose lives he touched. When you subscribe to the newsletter, you will receive e-mail notification each time a new issue becomes available on the web.

"Pray, pray to the Lord with me, because the whole world needs prayer. And every day, when your heart especially feels the loneliness of life, pray. Pray to the Lord, because even God needs our prayers."
