Catholic Mountain

I am in Buda, Texas at a family retreat put on by the Brothers of St. John (based in Laredo).

The little ones are in bed in the RV and the older girls are with the teens I'm front of a raging campfire. (picture coming).

We are with about 200 other Catholics (so I am not sure how many families, it could be as few as 20.

This far it has been a great retreat, we started with The Way of the Cross and are now roasting marshmallows.

Lights out at 11pm.

Family Retreats are hugely important to reconnect with the "living cells" of our Church. We take a trip annually to Saranac Lake NY called Guggenheim Family Camp.
We have begun a new tradition of "winter caming" also in the Adirondacks-a bit more rustic-no running water, outhouses, etc.

Peace,

Chris

Very nice. You can't do enough family activities. We love our family trips and we always try to have a spiritual component to each one.
